David Blake Jackson

David Blake Jackson, 17, of Balkan, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on March 13, 2017. He was born in Pineville, Kentucky on February 13, 2000 and was the son David Paul and Debbie Ballew Jackson. Blake faithfully attended Whipple Baptist Church, and was a student at Bell County High School where he was a proud member of the Bell County Bobcat's Football team, having played since he was in Kindergarten. He was preceded in death by two uncles, Don Wynn and Bruce Redmond. In addition to Blake's parents, David and Debbie Jackson, he is survived by his sister, Cheyenne Griffin and husband, Chris; a special niece to be, Blakelynn Ashlee and her big sister, Makena Rylee Griffin; grandparents, David and Joyce Jackson, Glennis Ballew and Barbara Sue Ballew; great-grandmothers, Lucy Jackson and Audrey Ballew; aunts, Hope Redmond and Sandy Wynn; uncles, Dennis Ballew and Digger Ballew; and a host of cousins and special friends, including, Emily Browning, Karlee Cox, George Philpot, Will Emery, Thomas Polly, Nathaniel Lewis, Ethan Murray and many, many more. Funeral services will be at 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 15, at the Bell County High School Gymnasium with Rev. David Gibbons and Rev. Freeman Clark. Music will be by the Whipple Baptist Church Choir. Graveside interment services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday at the Balkan Cemetery. Blake's brothers from the Bell County Bobcat Football Team, Will Emery and Thomas Polly are serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 6:00 PM on Wednesday at the Bell County High School Gymnasium on Log Mountain in Pineville.
