David Asher

February 2, 1918 — September 10, 2012

David Colson Asher, 94 of Pineville, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2012 at the Tri-State Manor Nursing and Rehab Center in Harrogate. He was born in Red Bird, KY on February 2, 1918 and was the son of George and Verda M. Creech Asher. David was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pineville and had retired from the GM Truck and Coach Plant in Pontiac, MI as an Inspector and Union Representative. He had served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Napier Asher and brothers and sisters, Sally Slusher and husband, Albert, Douglas Asher, Clayton Asher, Fannie Howard and husband, Ted and brother-in-law, Glen Ross. Survivors include his wife, Tishie Helton Morgan Asher; children, Kathleen (Asher) Boyle and husband, Daniel, David C. Asher, Jr. and wife, Kathryn, Claude D. Asher and wife, Tracy and Ida May (Asher)Dennis and husband, David; grandchildren, David Thomas Boyle, Carolyn Teriesa Dennis, Margaret Elizabeth Asher, Alan Douglas Dennis and Andrew Asher; sisters, Lou Ross and Georgellen Swinford and husband, Carl; sister-in-law, Miriam Asher and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
