Danny Lee Mccoy

Mr. Danny Lee McCoy, age 83, of Cumberland Gap, TN was born April 25, 1939 and passed way Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville.

He was a member of Trinity Full Gospel Church and had been a heavy equipment operator for 33 years.  Danny was known for always lending a hand at church and throughout his community. He was also an avid visitor of the local flea market where he would stop and talk to many of his friends.

He was preceded in death by his parent; Roy and Gracie Edith (DeMarcus) McCoy, brothers; J.R. McCoy, Bobby McCoy, companion; Evelyn Hodge, nephews; Roy T. McCoy, Clark Mayes, Donnie Lynn McCoy and Melvel Mayes, Jr.

He is survived by his daughters; Tammy Peters Nash and husband Mitchell, Patricia McCoy Massengill, grandchildren; Misty Peters, Danielle Parks and husband Josh, Austen Peters and wife Sarah, Brianna Massengill Moore and husband Chris, Evan Massengill, step grandchildren; Brook Nash and husband Bryan, Nick Nash and wife Tonya, great grandchildren; Dylan Parks, Isaac Nash, Gracie Nash, Colson Nash, Carter Nash and Storm Moore, sisters; Patty Lawson and Janet Sands, special friends; Kathy and Danny Courtney, special neighbors; Derrick Hill and family. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of other loving family members and friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 5PM until 7PM with funeral services to follow at 7PM in the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with Pastor Kenny Mullins officiating. Music will be provided by Etta Brock, Charlotte Gambrel and Rose Brock.

Graveside services will be conducted 2PM Wednesday, December 21, 2022 in the Hooper Cemetery.
