SFC -US ARMY, Daniel Lee Mills (Retired), ended his Tour of Duty July 11, 2015 at the Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born April 4, 1937 to the late Nasby and Lucy Carnes Mills in Scalf, KY. He was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Margie Collins. One of sixteen children, Daniel was preceded in death by his sisters, Captola Valentine and Louise Lingar and by his brothers, Curtis Mills, Tom Mills, Taylor Mills, Elzo Mills, Cecil Mills, George Mills, Arthur Mills, James Mills, Nasby Mills Jr, Robert Mills, Pershing Mills and Carnes Mills. Left to mourn his passing is his brother, Dewey Mills, Sacramento, CA., who is charged with the task of 'turning out the lights' for all of the Mills brothers and sisters. May your power bill grow very large, Uncle Dewey. We love you very much. His Grandchildren, Josh Collins, Brandi Collins Fuson, Randi Collins Wyatt, great grandchildren, Reagan Fuson, Riley Fuson, Gunner Wyatt, Tucker Wyatt and Mikey Joe Wyatt. Special nieces and nephews, Mildred McAtee, his namesake, Daniel Lee Valentine, Kathy Valentine Neely, Joanie and Allen Roper, Terry and Debbie Mills, Kathy and Leonard Miller, Margie's sons, Tony and Keith Collins, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. A special thank you to Vicki Wilder, you were an angel sent in the time of need. Also to Dr. C.A. Moore and Marcina Bailey, for years of care and friendship. Our deepest gratitude to employees of Middlesboro Healthcare and Rehabilitation for care you gave to our precious Uncle Dan, and the love and kindness you extended to our family. Daniel Lee Mills held many ranks and titles throughout his lifetime. From a Private in the U.S. Army, to Sergeant First Class. He was also a businessman for many years after he retired from the military. We take great pride in these accomplishments, but none are more precious to us than the titles of son, brother, uncle, papaw and friend. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 18 at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Mills; Mr. Leonard Miller and Ms. Joanie Roper. Military Honors will be presented at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at a later date in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro, KY. In lieu of flowers and remembrance gifts, the family request donations be made in memory of SFC Daniel L Mills, to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO BOX 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 - or to the Patriot Guard Riders of Kentucky, c/o Danny Valentine, 2013 Cedar Lane, Corbin Kentucky, 40701.
