Daisy Mae Brock Carnes

In Loving memory of Daisy Mae Brock Carnes, age 74, of Arjay who passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at her home surrounded by family. She was born February 11, 1942 to the late Osmer and Bertha Helton Brock. Mrs. Daisy was a vibrant and beloved member of our community. She was a member of Victory Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She began working at Old Straight Creek Bus Station as a young girl, before going to work at Bingham and Flocoe Drug Stores in Pineville, where she was employed for several years. She was also involved in working at the family business, Carnes Auto Parts, where she devoted herself to the success of the business. She also was employed by the Bell County Board of Education as a School Bus Driver for 13 years before retiring. Ms. Carnes also was successfully self-employed for many years outside the family business. She was loved and respected by all students and peers alike. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Patterson, brothers, Charles Brock and Bobby Brock; sister-in-law, Betty Deloris (Carnes) Bingham. She leaves behind a loving devoted husband of 56 years, Kenneth L. Carnes; two sons, Randall L. Carnes and wife, Victoria of Pineville; David L. Carnes and wife, Tina of Shelbyville, IN; three grandchildren, Brooke (David) Norris, Tiffany (Jon) Leman and Brandon (Jessica) Carnes; eight great-grandchildren, Seth Mason, Cameron Norris, Lexi Norris, Hunter Norris, Gavin Leman, Riley Carnes, Mckinlee Carnes and Kashton Carnes; sister, Delta (Brock) Allen; brother, Terry (Debbie) Brock; nieces, Billie Jean Patterson, Kim Dial, Becky Sands and Vickie Allen; nephews, Steve Laws, Shawn Allen, Chris Bingham, Ryan Bingham and Ricky Allen; brothers-in-law, Odell Bingham, Billy Patterson and Ronnie Allen; sister-in-law, Darlene Allen and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Polly and Rev. Wilkie Wayne Saylor. Music will be by the Victory Missionary Baptist Church Singers. Burial will follow in the Pineville Memorial Cemetery, Pineville. Pallbearers will be David Norris, Brandon Carnes, James Saylor, Jacob Broughton, Glen Gambrel and Josh Gipson. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men of Victory Missionary Baptist Church. Special thanks for the care and compassion from the Hospice Nurses and Staff. The family will receive friends from 5 until 9 PM Tuesday at Victory Missionary Baptist Church at Arjay.
