Curtis Thurman Perkins, 68, of Middlesboro, formerly of Barbourville, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2008 at his home. He was born in Yancey, KY on August 21, 1939 the son of the late Laurie Jackson Elliott and Walker Perkins. He served in the United States Air Force and was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. During his life, Curtis achieved great success as an entrepreneur. One of his proudest accomplishments was his participation in the construction of the Alaskan Pipeline. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronnie Perkins. Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Dorothy Perkins of Middlesboro, in 1959 he was united in marriage to Billie Frances Horn and from this union three children were born, Jennifer Dee Frederick of Barbourville, Sandra Lynn Earl of Jasper, AL and Michael Curtis Perkins of Midland, TX, grandchildren, Tamara Sanborn, Christina Trosper, Desiree McCombs, Thomas Earl, Curtis A. Perkins and Sarah Perkins, great-grandchildren, Morgan Sanborn, Trevor Sanborn and Seth Bingham, brother, Gary Carnes of Pineville and sister Phyllis Daniels of London and a host of other relatives and friends.
