Curtis Lewis, 71, formerly of Arjay, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Barbourville ARH. He was born in Pineville on July 1, 1945 a son of the late Melvin and Arizona Rice Lewis. He was a former Pastor of the Old Cary Church of God and led their youth group. He had also been a coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons, Bryan McCulley and Jaxson Lewis. Survivors include his children, Melvin Lewis, Kim McCulley, Drena Miller, Crystal Flemming and Tommy Smith; grandchildren, Shelby Lewis, Mattie Lewis, Cindy Lewis, Megen Hensley, Alexis McCulley, Taylor Dummitt and Paul Miller; great-grandchildren, Adalynn Dummitt, Bobby Hensley, Jason Hensley and Jackson Hensley; brother and sisters, Larry Lewis, Carol Bridges, Janice Rushing and JoAnn Osborne and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harvey 'Buddy' Valentine and Rev. Wilkie Saylor. Burial will be in the Brummett Cemetery at Simms Fork with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12 until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Lewis family.
