Curtis Ray Hembree

Curtis Ray Hembree, 72, of Pineville, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at his home after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. He had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was ready to go to his heavenly home. Curtis was born in Pineville on December 29, 1944, and was a son of the late Charles Harrison and Hazel Schneller Hembree. In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Myrtle Jeffers; brother, Johnny Hembree; special niece Tonya Hembree Wilder; special cousin; John Hembree; and special sister-in-law, Carletta Maltby. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, the love of his life, Sandy Jeffers Hembree; his daughter, whom he loved with all his heart, Michelle Bailey and her husband, John, whom he loved like a son; brothers and sisters, Pauline Blakley and husband, Paul of Lehigh Acres, FL, Ronnie Hembree of Beloit, WI, Patsy Brock and husband, Darrell, Terry Hembree, and Kaye Edwards and husband, Wayne, all of Pineville; a special brother, Glen Hembree of Pineville; sisters-in-law, Brenda Dawson, Lucille Wilder, Dorothy Gray and Carlene Harrel and husband Butchl; brothers-in law, Elmer Jeffers and wife Beulah and Jerry Jeffers and wife Geraldine; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Services will be at 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Helton and Bro. Mike Wilder officiating. Music will be by Andrea Muncy and The Merritt's. Graveside services will be on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Mills Cemetery at Tinsley. Pallbearers will be Brandon Edwards, Daniel Edwards, Anthony Brock, Wayne Edwards, Glen Hembree and Carlis Muncy. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Blakley, Darrell Brock, Elmer Jeffers, Jerry Jeffers ,Jimmy Maltby And Wayne Walters. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Pineville Community Hospital Home Health and Dr. Mohan. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Tuesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to be serving the Hembree family.
