Corlin Hollister Carpenter, 82, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Suffern, New York on October 1, 1942 a daughter of the late Rev. Luther and Helen Fisk Hollister. Corlin was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Pineville and had been a member and organist at Holy Cross Catholic Church for twenty years. Past president of Wawayanda Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, Holy Cross Women's Club, and the Minisceongo Yacht Club
Women's Auxiliary. As well as a member of the Bloomingburg Fire Ladies Auxiliary and the Red Hatters Club. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Corlin graduated from Western College and was a teacher, army wife, homemaker, office manager for the Salvation Army, and then worked as a secretary in the Guidance Office for many years. Corlin was a good army wife and a wonderful mother to her three children and grandmother to her four grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Corlin was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Carpenter, Jr.; Parents-in-law, Joseph E., Sr. and Josephine Novak Carpenter; and brother-in-law, Danny Ferguson.
Corlin is survived by her three children, Barbara Carpenter, Joseph E. Carpenter, and Karen and James Arno; grandchildren, Abigail Carpenter and Madelyn Carpenter, James Joseph Arno and Reese Arno; sister, Theda and Carl Wolfe; sister-in-law, Barbara Ferguson; nieces and nephews, Roland Giroux, Lorraine Beamer, Holly Wolfe, Helena Wolfe and Ned Wolfe and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Pineville. Burial will be at the Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery, South East in Hyden on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville. A Rosary service will be at 1:00 PM then we will proceed to Saint Anthony Catholic Church.
Memorial donations are suggested to Saint Anthony Catholic Church, 118 E Chester Ave, Middlesboro, KY 40965.
