Clofus “Cody” Barnett, 82 of Thorn Hill, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026, at the Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Middlesboro on May 8, 1943, a son of the late Marion and Etta Owens Barnett. Cody was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman. He loved to travel and go on random adventures and was the biggest fan of The Tennessee Vols Football. Cody was a Godly man and stood firm in his faith. He had been a security guard for Holiday Inn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Watson; sister, Bonnie Siler; and brother, Jackie Doyle Barnett.
Cody is survived by his wife of over 18 years, but whom he had been together with for over 35 years, Rosalind Barnett; children, Chris Barnett, Nick Barnett and spouse, Kim, Rhonda Barnett and spouse, Gary, Donnelly Bryant and spouse, Jessica, Greg Pendleton and spouse, Angie, Kelly Hoover, and spouse, Jesse; grandchildren, Brooke Watson, Cole Barnett, Gage Barnett, Brandyn Barnett, Madison Bailey, Samuel Pendleton, Hailee Michael, Dustin Hoover, Jesse Hoover, Jr., Jessica Hensley, and Justin Hensley; great-grandchildren, Steven Hoover and Braxton Hoover; special friends, Billy Ray Hoskins, Ike Rhodes, and David Jones; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation for the exceptional care provided to our loved one.
A private service will be held at a later date.
