Cleo Irene Payne, age 98, of Lone Mountain, TN, was born January 23, 1914 and died February 23, 2012. She was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother, gifted elementary school teacher, church pianist and member of Lone Mountain Missionary Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by parents, Charlie and Florence Rose; her beloved husband, Paul Payne; cherished eldest son, Charles Franklin Payne; and her brothers, Tom Rose, Estel Rose, Fred Rose, Glenn Rose and Paul Rose.

Mrs. Payne is survived by a daughter-in-law, Joyce Payne; a son, Owen Payne & Helen Jo, a son, John Paul Payne; a daughter, Nancy Sargent & husband, Wayne; Grandchildren are Wesley (Linda) Payne, Shawn (Mike) Sanson, Russell Payne, Kevi Payne, Kourtney Hutcheson, Cindy (Charles) Hudson, Kathy (Scott) Kelley, and Bryan Paul Sargent with eleven great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to cousin, Dr. Carroll Rose and the staff of Claiborne County Hospital, home healthcare professionals, and to past and present caregivers.

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 1-3 at Lone Mountain Baptist Church with funeral services to follow at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Lawrence Fultz officiating. Interment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
