Clarence Rutherford

Clarence Rutherford, 74 of Dorton Branch, KY left this earth on Monday, May 13, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 29, 1944 in Cary, KY the 9th child of the late Ula Bay and Martha Ann (Hensley) Rutherford. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Dorton Branch. Clarence loved fishing, ginseng hunting and playing music. He could play anything placed in front of him and could play it well. In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by his only son, Michael Anthony Rutherford; oldest grandson, Michael Anthony, Jr.; brothers, Hugh, Ernest, Kenneth, Bobby and Charles; sisters, Sarah and Magdalene. Clarence is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Edna Overton Rutherford; daughters, Deborah (Eddie) Hampton, Karen Emery (Kenneth Miracle), Lisa (Frank) Johnson and Jennifer Gambrel; grandchildren, Josh (Brandy) Rutherford, Jamie Van Cleave, Mary Beth Van Cleave, Derek Emery, Clara Warren, Matthew Gambrel, Kaleigh Gambrel and Olivia Gambrel; great grandchildren, Andrea Rutherford, Austin Rutherford and Shay Rutherford; brother, Billy Rutherford; sisters, Lorene Bingham, Helen Green and Elsie (Cecil) Smith; brothers-in-law, Frank Overton and Oscar Overton; sisters-in-law, Sue Hubbard and Maxine (Jack) Hall along with a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Services will be Thursday, May 16 at 2:00PM at the Arnett & Steele Chapel with Rev. Jeff Tingle. Burial will follow in the Overton Cemetery in Dorton Branch. Pallbearers will be Reed Maiden, Kenneth Miracle, Josh Rutherford, Matthew Gambrel and Frank Johnson, Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Rutherford and Eddie Hampton. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 15 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Rutherford Family.
