Christopher Adam Gibson, 38, of Greasy Creek passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025 at the University Of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Adam was born in Corbin, Kentucky on January 7, 1987, and was the son of Randy and Wanda Goodin Gibson. He was a customer service representative for Enterprise Rental Car Company. Adam was an avid runner and cross fitter, and he loved playing football, kickball, badminton and video games. He also loved hunting, target practicing with his guns, and watching Marvel movies, and definitely loved the U.S.A.
There aren’t enough words to express how much Adam is loved. We have never known a
stronger person.
Adam carried that strength through everything. He threw himself into competition with wild
determination and, even when hurt, he endured. He was a fighter.
Despite his competitive nature, Adam was endlessly kind. He knew and loved us all so deeply.
We carry that with us.
Though it seems impossible, like Adam, we must fight to keep moving forward.
As said in one of Adam’s favorite movies, The Return of the King:
“Death is just another path, one that we must all take.
In sorrow we must go, but not in despair.”
He is survived by his parents, Randy and Wanda Gibson; brothers and sisters, Joe Gibson and Dawn, Katie Taylor and Dalton, Tessa Gibson, Emily Diaz and Jeremy, and Damien Gibson; nieces and nephew, Cynthia Gibson, Chevy Gibson and Dallas Taylor; grandmother, Alice Goodin; best friend, Nick Evans; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many other family and friends.
A private graveside will be held at the Adam's Memory Cemetery with his best friend, Nick officiating. Pallbearers will be Mathew Tigue, Joshua Black, T.J. Tigue, Brandon Tigue, Jayden Black, Joe Gibson, Dalton Taylor, Jeremy Diaz, Katie Taylor, Tessa Gibson, Emily Diaz, and Dawn Gibson.
The family suggests donations in Adam’s memory be made to Vets Serving Vets at P.O. Box 72, Middlesboro, KY 40965.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home in Pineville, which is honored to be serving the Gibson family.
