Christine Cornelius

Christine Brock Cornelius of East Pineville , passed from this life into eternal rest on December 25, 2016 at the age of 86. She was born October 30,1930 the eldest daughter of Hestle Brock and Lillie Jackson Brock, who proceeded her in death. Also, three brothers, Rev. Robert Brock, Melvin Brock and James Millard Brock and two sisters as well, Martha Brock and Vada Brock Mullins Left to mourn her passing are two sisters, Pauline Baker of Barbourville , KY and Mary Jean Rose (Gaston) of Danville , KY. Christine was married to the late Creed Cornelius on May 18, 1948 and had three sons, Gary Michael Cornelius (Debi) of Barbourville, KY, Russell Dale Cornelius (Sylvia) of Corbin, KY and Norman Lyle Cornelius (also deceased) and his wife, Deloris. Also mourning her passing are five grandchildren, Bethany Anne Johnson (Wendell) of Lancaster, KY, Christie Willis (Arvil) of Frakes, KY, Brandon Cornelius of Pineville, KY, Natasha Good (Brian) of London, KY and Matti Daniels (Justin) of Corbin, KY and three great-grandchildren, Emily Grace Johnson and Wendell Ethan Johnson of Lancaster, KY and Zachary Willis of Frakes. A Special Thank You to Samantha Ledford for all her care and companionship to Christine. She will also be missed by a host of friends, church family and co-workers. She had worked for years as a seamstress, sewing and crocheting at local factories and in her spare time. She was a faithful and dedicated servant of God for over 70 years. She was a member of Community Harvest Church at Flat Shoals and of the Laurel Hill Pentecostal Church . Services will be Tuesday at 8:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Rice and Rev. Wendell Johnson. Music will be by Gerald Baker, Becky Long and Angie Saylor. Burial will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Brock-Burnett Cemetery at East Pineville with grandsons and nephews serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be he Staff of the Barbourville Nursing Home and Barbourville ARH ICU. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 - 8 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Cornelius Family.
