Chris Butler

Chris Butler, Jr. 80, of Jenson, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Southeastern KY Medical Center, Pineville. He was born in Jenson on January 30, 1939 a son of the late Criss Butler and Lucy Eller Edwards. Chris had been a coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Howard Butler, daughter, Susan Butler, brother, Doris Gambrel and sister, Evelyn Raby, step-father, Boyd Gambrel and 2 step-children. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Juanita Parsley Butler; daughter, Patricia Butler; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Eleven step-children and a host of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Boyd Gambrel, Jr., David Gambrel and Ray Gambrel; sisters, Syvella 'Pet' Gilbert and Lana Gambrel and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be at 5:00 PM Friday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. Eric Jordan. Burial will follow in the Jenson Cemetery at Jenson with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3:00 until 5:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Butler Family.
