Chester “Chuck” Junior Valentine, 62 of Pineville, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022, at the Pineville Community Health Center in Pineville. He was born in Pineville on September 12, 1959, the son of the late Chester and Nannie Mason Valentine. Chuck had been a coal miner for many years and loved working in the mines and he also enjoyed fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Maise and Ida Mae Miller; and a niece, Luann Christopher Billings. Chuck is survived by his wife of 36 years, Wanda Hoskins Valentine; step-daughter, Kim Johnson; two step-grandchildren, Chasity Nicole Philpot and Jeremy Philpot and wife, Kayla; four great-grandchildren, Searra Hoskins, Jordan Baker, Hunter and Brantley; sisters, Betty Christopher, Peggy Sheldon and husband, Jim, Dorothy Cox and husband, Darrell; Johnny Lou Carnes and husband, Buster, and Ruby Valentine; a host of nieces and nephews and a special friends, Clarence ”Jr.” Smith and Brody Napier and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be on Monday, May 2, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. A.Y. Mills and Deacon Lee Lyons presiding. Music will be provided by Scott Phipps. Burial will be in the Hoskins Cemetery in Mill Creek. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Philpot, Brody Napier, Junior Smith, Patrick Helton, Carl Jordan, Scott Phipps, and Jarvis Helton. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:30 PM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the family of Chuck Valentine.
