Chester E. Susong was born December 12th, 1935, in Lee County, Virginia and passed away at his Knoxville, Tennessee home on December 31st, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings, his wife of fifty-three years, Wanda, and his son, Craig.
Chet was a life-long farmer and retired as a rural letter carrier. He was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church, Kerbela Shrine Temple, Knoxville, Tennessee, a fifty year plus member of the Scottish Rite Masons and was a sixty-year member of Martin Station Masonic Lodge #188, Rose Hill, Virginia, and Cumberland Chapter #170 Order of the Eastern Star. He served in the U. S, Army tenure at, Fort Bliss, Texas. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends and his passion throughout life was farming and family.
Chester leaves behind loving daughter, Lisa, son Clark (Lynette), grandsons Steven (Victoria) and Cyle, granddaughter Lindsay, and a host of relatives and friends.
Service will be at Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel, Harrogate, Tennessee on Sunday, January 4th, 2026, from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM. Pastor, Stewart Fultz will preside over the service, and a Masonic Funeral will be conducted by Martin Station Lodge #188. Music will be provided by Josh Peters.
Family and Friends will meet at the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel Monday, January 5th at 10:00 AM for the Graveside service at the Harrogate Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Greg Pendleton, Steve Pendleton, Harold Pendleton, Jr., Hunter Pendleton, Steven Susong, and Cyle Susong,
