Chester Stewart

Chester Stewart, 79, of Knoxville, TN passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017 at NHC Health and Rehabilitation-Fort Sanders in Knoxville. He was born on Brownies Creek in Bell County, and was a son of the late Phillip and Mary Pauley Stewart. Chester and his thirteen siblings were raised in the coal camps around Pathfork, Kentucky. He was a member of Beechfork Holiness Church, and had retired from Fisher Body's Fleetwood/Cadillac Plant in Detroit, Michigan. Chester loved hunting and serving the Lord. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Sally Stewart, Florine McMillian, Pauline St. Claire, Glades Stewart, Alice Stewart, Nathan Stewart, JB Stewart, Eugene Stewart, Herman Stewart and Vernon Stewart. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Barbara J. Brock Stewart of Knoxville; children, Kendall Stewart and wife, Anne of Gaines, MI, Benny Stewart of Knoxville, and Marlene Nelson and husband, Tommy of Knoxville; grandchildren, Erik (Jessica) Stewart, Christopher (Mai) Young, Stephanie Stewart, and Jonathan (Rachel) Young; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill (Lou) Stewart, Larry (Judy) Stewart, and Dr. Dan (Susan) Stewart; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Services will be Wednesday, November 1, at 2:00PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Herman Woods and Rev. Mike Hoskins. Burial will follow in the Alva Memorial Gardens at Black Star. Pallbearers will be Erik Stewart, Chris Young, Jonathan Young, Alex Young and Tyrone Stewart. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11AM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to be serving the Stewart family.
