Charles Willis Sprinkles, 87, of Calvin, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Pineville Community Health Center. He was born in Pennington Gap, VA on June 15, 1932 a son of the late Robert Earl and Myrtle Skrews Sprinkles. Charles was a member of the Church of God. He served in the US Airforce during the Korean War. Charles had been a Vocational Teacher at Harlan County Vocational School. He played minor league Baseball for the Harlan Smokies and he was a member of the Harlan County Masons and Shriners, he served as president of the Shrine in 1996-1997. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Sprinkles; sisters, Ruth Collins of Harlan, Jeanette Owens of Maryville, TN and Geneva Clem of Middlesboro; brothers, Don Sprinkles of Maryville, TN and Phillip Standifer of Middlesboro. Survivors include his wife, Audrey Hubbard Sprinkles; son, Charles P. Sprinkles and wife, Holly of Lexington; step-children, Reece Hubbard and wife Renea of Scottsville, KY, Charles Hubbard and wife Elaine of Pineville, Melissa Gross of Riner, VA and one grandchild; brothers and sisters, Wilma Snow of Dayton, OH, Linda Turner of Knoxville, Marvin Standifer of Bolton, NC and wife, Janie and Jack Standifer of Middlesboro and a host of other family and friends. Services will be at 1:00 PM Monday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arthur Jackson. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery at Loyall with full Military Honors and Masonic Rites. Pallbearers will be close friends. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 until 8:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Sprinkles family.
