Charles “Glenn” Lefevers, 66, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Baptist Health in Lexington. He was born in Cary, Kentucky on February 23, 1956.
He was preceeded in death by his dad and mother, Arnold “Bud” Lefevers and Beatrice Taylor Lefevers. His son, Mark Lefevers; Brothers, Wilce and Joe Ray Lefevers; Sisters, Shirley (Charles) Hollingsworth, Marie (Matt) Secen, Muriel Lefevers and Loretta (Warren) Klinger; Sisters-in-law, Dolly Jean Taylor, Brenda Lefevers and Barbara Taylor; and Father and Mother-in-law, Howard and Ruth Taylor.
Glenn feared the Lord and with Virginia raised his children to do so. He was a member of the Cary Church of God of Prophecy, where he held various roles at times and taught Sunday School for many years. He worked as a coal miner for over 18 years. He loved old lawn tractors and could talk about them for hours, especially the Wheelhorse. He loved to cut up and make people laugh and was always up for a good joke. He was a strong husband and daddy and loved and cared for his wife, children, and grandchildren with his whole heart.
He will be dearly missed by his friends and family, but they rest in assurance that Jesus has carried him home to live forever more, where he will never want, need, or be in sickness or pain again. As he often sang, “What would I do without Jesus, the Shepherd of my Valley, Lord you know I just couldn’t walk this road alone.”
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Virginia Taylor Lefevers; his Daughter, Lora (Calvin) Thompson of Bryson City, North Carolina; his sons, Anthony “Clint” (Carrie) Lefevers of Gray, Kentucky and Charles Bradley “Brad” (Tiffany Martin) Lefevers also of Gray, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Aaron Nathaniel (Nathan) Lefevers, Chase Anthony Lefevers, Chloe Bella Lefevers, Jayden Bradley Lefevers, Landyn Skylar Lefevers, Kaydence Rylan Lefevers and Alexus “Lexi” Lyn Martin; brothers, Laverne (Nora Lee) Lefevers, Harold Lefevers, Larry Lefevers and Mike (Tonya) Lefevers; In-laws, Billy Taylor, Diane Cox, Chris (Ricky) Daniels, Mary Ann Taylor, Etta Lefevers, and Robert (Joann) Taylor; And a very special friend, Brian Hopkins; As well as a host of nieces, nephews, special neighbors, and friends.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Bishop Alan Lord presiding. Music will be provided by Bishop Custer Watts. Burial will follow in the Cumberland Memorial Cemetery at Lilly, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Chase Lefevers, Dustin Hensley, William "Woody" Smith, Calvin Thompson, Tyler Smith, and Josh Lockard. Honorary pallbearers will be Clint Lefevers, Brad Lefevers, Ricky Daniels, Billy Taylor, Robert Taylor, and Allen Smith.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Lefevers Family. Light a candle of remembrance and sign the guest register at arnettsteele.com.
