Charles "Butch" Jefferson

February 25, 1956 — April 30, 2017

On the wings of a dove, Charles 'Butch' Clinton Jefferson made his transition into God's Heaven back into the arms of his parents, Mary Magdalene Shannon Jefferson and Charles Quincy Adams Jefferson on April 30. He was a graduate of Pineville High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army (1976-1978). After departing from the military, Butch resided in the state of California and returned home to Bell County, the place of his birth. From 2015-2017, he retired from a life in the skilled trades industry in Louisville, KY. Survivors include daughter, Shannon Alhassan (Texas); son, Aaron W. Jefferson (California); grandchildren, Jose', Lei Launnie Rose (California) and Charlie (Texas). He also leaves to mourn sisters, Mary Ella Jefferson (Louisville); Lisa Annette Cassell (Lexington) and brother, John Grant Jefferson (Virginia). Family members also include a special nephew, Eric 'Truth' Jefferson, nephew, LeSean Tyrone Jefferson and niece Stephanie Lynn Jefferson (all of Louisville). Family members including aunts; Marie Ferguson (Pineville); Joann 'Memaw' Burton (Louisville) and Norma Brown (Arizona); uncles James Ferguson (Pineville) and Donnie Eugene Buchanan (Knoxville, TN), among a village of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will miss him dearly. We all will remember his kind heart, artistic talents and amazing tall tales. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a 'Love Offering' payable to Arnett and Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 106 Cherry Street, Pineville, KY 40977. A brief Prayer Service and Gravesite Memorial will convene on Wednesday, May 24, 3 p.m. at the funeral home and Wallsend 'Colored' Cemetery. Evangelist, Michael Ferguson and Rev. Arthur Trent will preside at the Prayer Service and Gravesite Memorial, respectively. Visitors are encouraged to wear a combination of Butch's favorite colors: red, black and/or white. Family and friends will celebrate our brother's life and home going at Flocoe on the Square immediately following the interment.
