Charles Ray Collins, 63 of Flat Lick, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016 at his home. He was born in Red Bird, KY on April 28, 1953, and was the son of the late Shilo and Vernie Saylor Collins. He was a believer n the Pentecostal faith. He was a gifted artist and talented mechanic, that loved both repairing and operating heavy equipment and had also worked as a coalminer. Unknown to many of his friends, Charles Ray fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning his very own plane and learning to fly solo. He also enjoyed restoring older cars and loved to travel, even flying to Belize on three occasions. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Collins and Randall Collins. He is survived by his sisters, Anna Jean Roop, Brenda Swain and Dellene Rogers, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 12 at the Crockett Saylor Pentecostal Church with Rev. Tim Hensley and Rev. Ronnie Hoskins. Burial will follow at Mountainview Cemetery & Memorial Gardens in Harrogate, Tennessee with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 PM Thursday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to be serving the Collins family.
