Charles A. Greene, age 78 of Tazewell, passed away February 12, 2006 at UT Hospital. Born September 22, 1927 in Middlesboro, Kentucky a son of the late James Frank and Lillie May Smith. Member and Deacon at Victory Assembly Church. He worked and retired from General Food, Indiana 40 years.He was a veteran of World War II

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by son, James Earnest and step-mother Nellie B. Greene

He enjoyed fishing and cooking for his family and friends at Cedar Grove Boat Dock.

Survivors: wife, Hester N. Warner Greene of Tazewell; daughter, Lillie Faye & (Dale) Guiney of Lafayette, IN; son, Charles F. Greene, Tazewell; sister, Jenny Ellen & (Lee) Barnette, Lafayette, IN; 6 grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Gladys Gibson, Harrogate, TN & Pauline Briles, New Albany, IN; Step-grandson, Bobby & (Joyce) Long; Very special friend, Sam Robinette; Several neices, nephews, family & friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Thursday at Victory Assembly Church in New Tazewell with pastor Mike Vandergriff and pastor Ual Russell officiating. Music by Joe Huff. Burial in The Harrogate Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers: Sam Robinette, Ezel Cox and grandsons. Visitation 5-8 pm Wednesday at the church.
