Cecil F. Slusher, 90, of Pineville, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Middlesboro ARH . He was born in Corbin, KY on July 18, 1922 a son of the late William Matt and Mary Elizabeth Dean Slusher. Mr. Slusher had served in the United States Army during World War II and was awarded a Silver Star and Purple Heart. He had worked for Kentucky Utilities as a lineman and Mapping Agent. He was a member and Deacon at East Jellico Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Jackson Slusher, daughter, Kay Slusher; son, Donnie Slusher; grandsons, Hank Slusher and Ronnie Joe Davis; sisters, Eula Mae Goodin and Eunice Slusher; brothers, Claude 'Crook' Slusher, Leonard 'Tee' Slusher; Paul Slusher; James William Slusher; Robert 'Cotton' Slusher and Donald Slusher. Survivors include his children, Darlene and Carl Dean; Ricky and Patty Slusher; Joy and David Terrell; grandchildren, Steve Dean, Matt Dean, Eric Sproles, Jason Sproles, Jane Davis Mosser, Joe Slusher, Daniel Slusher and Michelle Whicker; great-grandchildren, Jessica and Jennifer Sproles, Josie, Addison Grace and Reed Sproles and Devyn Whicker and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
