Carolyn Buchanan Young

Carolyn Sue Buchanan Young, 75 of Pineville passed away on Thursday, July 23 at the Pineville Community Hospital. She was born in Kettle Island, KY on July 16, 1934 a daughter of the late James G. ?Jim? and Pansy Butler Buchanan. She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church and had been a nurse at Pineville Community Hospital and had worked in the offices of Dr. Stacy, Dr. Mills, Dr. Woolum and Dr. Hayes until her retirement. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Clo Hoskins and Artie Lewis; brothers, Boone Buchanan and Max Buchanan; and a nephew, Armond Miles. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, John L. Young of Pineville; daughters, Melissa Smith and husband Dennie, Mary Lou Young and Tammy Hatfield; sister, Geneiveve Harper of W. VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and a special thanks to the staff of 1st South at Pineville Community Hospital and her many special friends.
