Carolyn Louise Moffitt

Carolyn Louise Gelner Moffitt, 88 of Pathfork, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. She was born in Middlesboro on December 7, 1937, a daughter of the late George and Virginia Daniels Eads. Caroline had worked for the United States Postal Service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Moffitt; brother, Rev. Everette Eads; and sisters, Reva Lear, Pauline King, Sally Ann Saylor, Tootsie Ondo, and Maxine Howard.

Carolyn is survived by her sons, Gene Raymond Gelner, George Steven Gelner, and Richard Dale Gelner; grandchildren, Lindsay Nicole Chan, Raleigh Gene Gelner, Julian Dale Gelner, and Madison Gelner; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Gelner, Angela Marie Chan, and Anders Chan; sister, Mitzy Oplinger; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Pathfork Holiness Church Rev. Ronnie Oplinger presiding.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the Pathfork Holiness Church. Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville is honored to serve the Moffitt Family.
