April 12, 1948 — April 26, 2026

Carolyn Elliott, age 78, of Tazewell, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026, following a long-term illness.

Born April 12, 1948, to the late Albert and Opal Evans, Carolyn devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Carolyn loved shopping, dressing stylish and usually pairing her pleasant clothing with a big floppy hat. She also enjoyed vacationing and gardening; but most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and friends. She was a lifelong active member of the Church of Latter-Day Saints of Cumberland Gap, Tennessee. Carolyn and her unforgettable smile that could light up any room, will forever be missed.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of twenty-two years and the father of her children, Gillis Ray Elliott; and one infant son, Brandon Elliott.

Survivors include one daughter, Renee (Andy) Haas; one son, Brian T. Elliott; five grandchildren, Grace Haas, Emma Haas, Kelsey Elliott, Alex Elliott, and A.J. Elliott; one brother, Kyle (Gretchen) Evans; special niece, Michelle Evans; a host of other special nieces and nephews; special friend and nurse, Donna Gent; and a host of other special friends and family.

Gravesides services will be conducted at Hill Cemetery in Speedwell, Tennessee, on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 1PM, with First Counselor Phillip Chumley officiating.

Music to be provided by The Graves Family.

Pallbearers to serve are Jeff Meihls, Ace Ward, Vic Graves, Dewayne Graves, Jason Wilder and Scott Hoskins.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Felica Fultz and the staff of Claiborne County Health and Rehabilitation Services; and the staff of Beacon Hospice for all the support and wonderful care through this difficult time.
