Carl W. Johnson, Jr.

Carl W. Johnson, Jr., 67, of Pineville, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at his home. He was born in Pineville, KY on January 19, 1956, a son of the late Carl W., Sr. and Bertha Elliott. Carl was of the Baptist Faith. He delivered coal to many homes. He loved to fish, hunt, and watch UK Sports. The apple of his eye was his squirrel dog, Katy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, John and Margaret Elliott; paternal grandparents, Walter and Sadie Bennett Johnson; sisters, Jo Ella Foster, and Gloria Faye Brock and her husband, Dewey Brock; and brother-in-law, Jack McGeorge.

Carl is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol Ann Bailey Johnson; son, Michael R. Johnson; grandson, Michael Hunter Johnson; sister, Carolyn McGeorge; special uncle, Bobby Wayne Johnson; nieces and nephews, Ricky (who was like a brother to him) and Anna Carol Foster, Phillip and Sally Brock, Steven Bailey, Scott and Jennifer McGeorge, Natalie Foster Holbrook, Melissa Foster, and Cindy and Dave O’Brien; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; special friends, Eddie Ray Smith, Luke Helton, Wayne Fullenwider; and The Breakfast Club at McDonald’s.

Services will be on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 7:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Don Messer. Burial will be on Tuesday at the Johnson Family Cemetery, Pineville. Pallbearers will be Michael Johnson, Steve Bailey, B.J. Brock, Scott McGeorge, Dawson Widner, Luke Helton, Derrick Widner and Frank Foster. Honorary pallbearers will be Coleman Lefevers, Eugene Collett, Uylis Lankford, Colson Napier, Millard Napier, Chucky Napier, Larry Beverly, Ralph Canterbury, J.C. Caldwell, Mike Warren, and Jerome Caldwell.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 5 until 7:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Johnson Family.
