Calvin Patterson

Calvin Patterson age 89 of Speedwell was born January 5, 1928 to the late Rolley "RS" & Carrie Partin Patterson and passed away May 16, 2017. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his life companion Paralee Trombley, infant son- Darrell Patterson, brothers- Woodrow Patterson, Henry "Poker" Patterson and GD "Doc" Patterson, sister- Georgia Evans, step brother- Rex Barnard. He was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church and was saved at an early age under the guidance of Rev. Hugh Vancel.

Survivors include: Sons- Randy (& Mary) Patterson of Speedwell, Gary (& Terry) Patterson of Rose Hill, VA, David Patterson of Cookville, TN, daughter Donna Patterson of Speedwell, the mother of his children- Josaphine Patterson, sister- Jessie Houser of Warren MI., half brothers- Danny & Jimmy Patterson of Cumberland Gap, step brother- Doug Barnard, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family & friends.

Funeral service will be 8 PM Thursday May 18 at Red Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Mundy officiating. Music provided by David Evans, John & Betty Dyer and the church choir. The family will receive friends from 5-8. Burial 2 PM Friday at the Red Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jody Beeler, Cody Munday, Jimmy Welch, George Dyer, Jay Dyer, Don Wilder. Honorary pallbearers: David Evans, Lowell Evans.
