Calvin Gibson

William Calvin Gibson, age 82 of Middlesboro, KY was born on August 5, 1938 in Tinsley, KY and went Home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 22, 2020 after being in UT Medical Center with a prolonged illness. Calvin was a coal miner and foreman for 40 years. He truly loved spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them to hunt, fish, drive, shoot guns, and mow grass. He was a beloved dad and grandpa. He will be sadly missed and never forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Jesse and Elon Gibson, brothers; Dewey Gibson and Mike Gibson, sister; Mary Sue Hatmaker.

He is survived by his daughters; Kim (Rocky) Lane, of Harrogate, TN, Rolanda Gibson of Middlesboro, KY, son; Josh Gibson of Middlesboro, KY, grandchildren; Brian Cole, Stevie Shepherd, Noah Johnson and Seth Johnson, brothers; Arnold (Phyllis) Gibson of Cumberland Gap, TN, James (Pat) Gibson of Cumberland Gap, TN, Don (Lana) Gibson of Middlesboro, KY, Joe (Loretta) Gibson of Speedwell, TN, sisters; Betty (Fred) Thomas of Laurel, Maryland, Cora Cass of Ranger, GA special friends; Jessie Gibson, Bill Bayless, Don Bayless, Randy Napier and Charles Rice Jones. Calvin is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, November 28, 2020 from 5PM until 7PM with funeral services to follow at 7PM in the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with Rev. Spencer Burkhart officiating. Music will be provided by Joe Gibson, Joetta Hall, Sally Yeary and Karen Brown.  Graveside services will be conducted Sunday, November 29, 2020 at 12 noon in the Harrogate Cemetery.
