Boyd Goodin

Boyd Goodin, 85, of Arjay, passed away Friday, May 2, 2014. He was born in Tinsley, KY., December 19, 1928, a son of the late Benjamin and Susie Goodin. He was a 20 year veteran of the US. Navy having served during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He had been a coal truck owner/operator. In additions to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Baker Goodin, brother and sisters; Cecil and Carson Goodin, Goodin, Helen Gross, Esther Goodin, Sylvia Slusher and Alta Ingle, grandson; Nicholas Guy, great-granddaughter; Navaeh Mosley. He is survived by his children; Vickie Lynn Bailey Guy and Johnny, Tommy and Joy Goodin, Jimmy Goodin, Susie and Alan Inman and Boyd Goodin Jr., grandchildren; Johnny, Steve, TJ, Tim, Dustin, Cody Kaylyn, Boyd III, William, Kasey and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Dillan, Baylee, Dalton, Shawn, Trae; Tucker, Wyatt, Owen, Olivia, Aaliyah and Jaxson; brothers and sisters, Dallas Goodin, Estil Goodin, Tevis Elliott and Jessie Clark and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Polly, Rev. Wilkie Saylor and Rev. Travis Wilder. Music will be by Virgil Lawson, Theda Polly, Wilkie Saylor and Esther York. Burial will be in Pinelawn Memorial Gardens, Pineville. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Steve, T.J., Tim, Dustin, Cody, Boyd, III and William Goodin and Joshua Mosley. Honorary pallbearers will be Mitchell Baker, Grant Baker, Tony and Joe Warren and Marlin Griffin.. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 PM Saturday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Goodin Family.
