June 22, 1938 — October 14, 2022

Bobby Ray “Bob” Hendrickson, 84, of Pineville went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 14, 2022 peacefully with his family by his side. He was born June 22, 1938 to the late William “Bill” and Thelma Gambrel Hendrickson.

Bob grew up in Fourmile, Kentucky and graduated from Lone Jack High School where he played basketball for 4 years under coach G.B. Hendrickson, his cousin. Bob was an avid fan of Kentucky Wildcat Football and Basketball. He loved feeding his squirrels that came often to the back door beckoning Bob for a cracker. Bob was a faithful member and Deacon of West Pineville Baptist Church. He was a Sunday School Director and Teacher and was always willing to serve the Church when called. He was a man that truly loved the Lord. He worked for Kentucky Utilities for over 35 years diligently repairing the electrical lines in any weather condition. He loved his work and his coworkers.

Bob loved time spent with his family especially when the entire family gathered for special occasions and Holidays. He was often heard saying “This is the best one yet!”. Bob was a man of few words. He loved and was loved.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Joy Hendrickson and brothers-in-law, Charles B. Ely, Jr., and Adam Stacy, III.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Kate Ely Hendrickson; daughter, Robin Smith and her husband Aubrey of Amarillo, Texas; son, Bobby Ray Hendrickson Jr. and Teresa Baker of Pineville, Ky; six grandchildren, Brittany Altman and her husband Andrew, William Smith and his wife Whitney, Tyler Smith, Blake Hendrickson, Madison Hendrickson and Christian Bonifield and Cade Hendrickson; five great-grandsons, Luke and James Altman, Graham and Reece Smith and Brayden Bonifield.
