Bobby Ray Garrett

Bobby Ray "Showboat" Garrett, 63 of Four Mile passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at his home. He was born in Pineville on February 14, 1956 and was the son of the late Gilbert and Evie Jones Garrett. Showboat was most remembered for his many years driving and delivering produce around the region for Jackson's Market until they closed, and then became a coal miner. He attended Riverside Baptist Church and loved working with wood in his spare time. Survivors include his brother, Paul Garrett and his wife, Rose of Pineville; nieces and nephews, Charles Messer, Kaitlyn Messer, Nora Messer, James Gwinner and James Gwinner, Jr.; and many many cousins, other family members and close friends. Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 29 at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Brooks and Mr. Bill Bailey. Burial will follow in the Mills Cemetery at Tinsley with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1 until 4 PM on Sunday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to be serving the Garrett family.
