Bobby Ray Ayers

Bobby Ray Ayers, 65 of Cumberland Gap, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Tri-State Manor Healthcare in Harrogate, TN. He was born in Middlesboro on February 29, 1952 and was a son of the late Shelby and Nellie Jones Ayers. He professed faith in Christ and was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church at an early age. Bobby had worked as a carpenter and had done factory work. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jason Ayers; and siblings, Irene, Leslie, Barbara, Opal, James 'Bogg', and Willie. Survivors include his son, Michael Ayers; grandson, Dalton; mother of his children, Mary Jane; sister, Wanda Ellison; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bobby will be missed. A memorial service is being planned for a later time. Private cremation services were held at the Arnett & Steele Cremation Center in Pineville.
