Bobbie Jean Smith Peavley

September 23, 1946 — October 13, 2015

Bobbie Jean Smith Peavley, 69, of Flat Lick, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the Pineville Community Hospital. She was born in Pineville on September 23, 1946 a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Lena Parrott Smith. When in good health she was very active in her church, Bethel Baptist Church. She had been self-employed as a housekeeper. Bobbie says, 'Remember me with laughter, smiles and joy, if you remember me with tears, then don't remember me at all.' In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Marvin Peavley; brothers, Robert Gene Smith and Columbus Smith. Survivors include her sisters, Maxine Potter, Lena Foley, Dorothy Bishop, Martha Ferguson and Bessie Elliott and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be on Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mark Clark. Music will be by Debbie Renfro, Rhonda Ann White and Ronnie Johnson. Burial will be in the Rosewald Cemetery at Barbourville. Pallbearer will be James Foley, Jim Foley, Josh Brock, Phillip Elliott, Shawn Brown and Harold Hill. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 PM Friday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the family of Ms. Peavley.
