Billy Taylor, 77 of Pineville, Kentucky went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. He was born in Cary, Kentucky on July 25, 1948, to Howard and Ruth Smith Taylor. Billy was a member of the Cary Church of God of Prophecy. He loved talking about the Lord to everyone he met and made an impact on many lives.
Billy was a coal miner, coal truck driver, a construction worker on the Cumberland Gap Tunnel and Pineville Floodwall, and a newspaper carrier. His interests were film festivals and old westerns. Billy was a proud veteran of the United States Army, where he was awarded a Purple Heart for his bravery while serving in the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by the love of his wife, Barbara Faye Johnson Taylor, whom he married on July 1, 1968; his parents, Howard and Ruth Taylor; and sister, Dolly Jean Taylor.
Left to mourn his passing are his daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Allen Smith; special grandsons, Tyler Reyes and Jacob Witt; sisters, Diane Cox, Virginia Lefevers, Christine and Ricky Daniels, and Mary Ann Hensley; brother, Robert and Joann Taylor; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim Wayne Johnson, Marie and David Cavin, and Joyce Brandenburg; nieces and nephews, Nora Cox, Courtney and Travis Saylor, Jessica Cox, Lora and Calvin Thompson, Clint and Carrie Lefevers, Brad and Tiffany Lefevers, Julie and William Strunk, Dustin and Kimberly Hensley, Heather and Matt Mullins, Madison and Travis Mosley, Luke and Misty Taylor, Jacob Taylor, Jenny Hurst, Charlie Walker, Angie Caldwell, Kathy Patterson, David Leon Cavin, Tommy Johnson, and Dexter Brandenburg; special friends, Mr. & Mrs. Dana Cox; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Bishop Allen Lord and Jimmy Smith presiding. Music will be provided by Lora Thompson, Bishop Custer Watts and Darrin Lord. Burial will follow at Farley Cemetery in Himyar, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Jacob Taylor, Luke Taylor, Dustin Hensley, Doug Felton, Steve Howard, and Travis Mosley. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Reyes, Jacob Witt, Robert Taylor, Ricky Daniels, Clint Lefevers, Brad Lefevers, Jim Wayne Johnson, and David Cavin.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Taylor Family.
