Billy Don Hembree, 92 of Corbin, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Corbin. He was born in Ingram on October 17, 1931, a son of the late John and Nellie Brooks Hembree. Billy Don served his country in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He had been a heavy equipment operator for the strip mines. Billy Don was a hardworking and honest man, who loved fishing. He was a 30-year member of the Little Poplar Creek Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shelby Hembree: son, Bill Hembree; son-in-law, David Cinnamon; and siblings, Tom Delfus Hembree, Jackie Ray Hembree, Elmer Ray Hembree, Della Brewer, Gladys Laws, Carrie Golden and Marie Hendrickson.
Billy Don is survived by his wife of 31 years, Eula Hembree; daughter, Vickie Cinnamon; daughter-in-law Carolyn Hembree, grandchildren, Brooke and Chris Partin, and Courtney and Merle Middleton; great-grandchildren, Tytus Schultz, Jaxson Middleton, Link Partin, and Gracie Middleton; sister, Naomi, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Brooks and Rev. Jerry Fuson presiding. Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro. The family asks that everyone meet at 10:30 AM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home to leave in procession to the cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Rose and Veteran Honors. Pallbearers will be Larry Helton, Gary Fuson, Euel Jordan, Gib Taylor, Finley Maiden, James Golden, and Ronnie Rose. Honorary pallbearers will be Tytus Schultz, Jaxon Middleton, and Link Partin.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 PM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Hembree Family. Light a candle of remembrance and sign the guest register at www.arnettsteele.com.
