Billie June Roop, a precious mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife and friend to many, went home to be with the Lord on August 6, 2011. As a nurse, she touched many lives while working alongside Dr. Hays, Dr. Valencia and the nursing staff of PCH and MARH. As a Christian Soldier, she always spoke words of encouragement to many, many people while traveling on her journey of life. She also wrote many songs, including, ?Pure Gold,? Depending on You,? ?Heaven My Home? and ?There?s a God Somewhere? that have inspired fellow Christians down through the years. She was greatly loved and will be missed even more. She was born in Pineville, KY on May 23, 1937 a daughter of the late James P. and Sudie Asher Napier. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, J.C. Napier and a nephew, Jimmy Napier. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Melvin Roop; daughters and their husbands, Sue and james Johnson of Harrogate, Melvina Roop of Harrogate, Tonya and William Muncy of London and Debbie and Curt Asher; grandchildren, Samanda Johnson of Harrogate, Bridgett and Keivn Carnes of Harrogate and Bryson Muncy of London; great-grandchldren, Evan and Emily Carnes; her ?baby?, Bandit; very special cousin, Anna Hurd (Sis) and Curtis Asher (Brother) and Priscilla Pasmore (Sissy) and a multitude of family, friends and loved ones.
