Billie Jean Jackson, 78, of Middlesboro, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Tri-State Health and Rehab. She was born in Blanche, KY on April 15, 1939 a daughter of the late Dewey and Alice Bailey Miracle. She was a member of the Old Fourmile Pentecostal Church and had been a homemaker. Billie Jean loved to cook, sew and work find-a word puzzles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Pallas Root and W.P. Jackson; daughter, Lola Lynn Root; brothers and sisters, Gus Smith, Roscoe Miracle, Kitty Rose Rice, Georgia Storms, Pete Miracle, Eugene Miracle, Dewey Miracle, Oscar Miracle and Naomi Miracle. Survivors include her children, Henry Root and wife, Marsha; Priscilla Smith and husband, William; grandchildren, Ashlie Nicole Smith, Shannon Kaye Smith, Ami Abney, Cindi Jean Smith, Harrison Carl Smith, William Franklin Smith, Henry Todd Root and Dylan Root; great-grandchildren, Breanna Gambrel, Isaac Gambrel, Victoria Rose Fanney, Makenna Smith, Kayleigh Greene and Kayson Greene; brother, Arthur Miracle and wife, Dorothy; special friend, Julie Holland; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be at 4:00 PM Thursday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Engle, Jr. Music will be by friends. Burial will be in the Betty Frost Cemetery at Woolum, KY. Pallbearers will be Harrison Smith, William Smith, Todd Root, Dylan Root, William Greene and Derek Jones. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the family of Billie Jean Jackson.
