Betty Jean Haley Smith

Betty Jean Smith, 86, of Pineville passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Middlesboro ARH. She was born in Pineville on August 7, 1932, a daughter of the late Charles and Sally Grubb Haley. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church of Pineville and had worked as a Nurses Aide at Pineville Community Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Smith and sisters, Ethel "Skeet" Johnson, Mary Haley, Magdaline Widener and Cindy Gray. Survivors include her children, Debbie Chadwell, Peggy White, Sharon Philpot, Shirley Salata, Boyd Smith, Jr. and Christopher Smith; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ray Haley and a host of niece, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Jared Smith and Rev. Kelly Partin. Music will be by Jared and Angie Smith and Jimmy Haley. Burial will be in Pineville Memorial Cemetery, Pineville, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Smith Family.
