Betty Sue Campbell

Betty Sue Campbell, 81, of Cumberland Gap, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at the Claiborne County Hospital in Tazewell. She was born on November 16, 1944 in Middleboro, Kentucky and was the daughter of the late Tilmon and Almiria Elliston Ramsey. Betty was a loving wife and mother, and had also been a Dietary Aide at Middlesboro Health and Rehabilitation.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Louis Ramsey; and sisters, Frances Harper, Leona Davis and Marie Overbay.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 61 years, James Edward Campbell; children, Fred Campbell and wife, Tammy, Clinton Campbell and wife, Sara, Louis Campbell and wife, Sue, Christine Ruszkowski and husband, Gary, and James Campbell; fourteen grandchildren; sister, Rosalee Ramsey; brother, Alan Ramsey; special brother-in-law, Clint Lambdin; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Betty’s family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Dr. Lisa Ochoa for all the special and loving care she gave to Betty.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 30, at Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with Rev. Jim Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrogate Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Ruskowski, Russell Ruskowski, Brad Duncan, Ralph Lopez, Ken Ochoa and Chris Robbins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Saturday at the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel in Harrogate, which is honored to be serving the Campbell family.
