Betty Joy Gambrel Burnett Baker, age 71, of Pineville, Kentucky, reaped the rewards of her unwavering faith and loyal servitude to the Lord by going home to be with Him on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
Betty was born to the late Dewey and Myrtle Gambrel on September 5, 1953, in Arjay, Kentucky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Herman Burnett, second husband Hubert Baker, sisters, Jackie Warren and Darlene Smith, and brother Lowell Gambrel.
Betty was a faithful member of Laurel Hill Pentecostal Church where she was involved in serving and helping in any way the Lord directed her. She was a light to her community, assisting and giving to any and everyone in need. Betty lived her life giving and taking care of everyone around her, especially her family. Following her faith, Betty’s family was most important to her. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother. She was so incredibly proud of her family, and she never forgot to share that with each and every one of them. The love she had for her family radiated through her contagious smile and warm hugs. She always made each one of her grandchildren feel so special and immensely loved, always being there for everything big or small. She has left an imprint on each of our hearts that will last forever. To be loved by her was such a blessing that will last on through generations to come.
Betty was an inspiration to everyone who crossed her path. She was a precious soul with a pure heart for the Lord. To know her was to love her. She was a true angel on Earth who has officially gained her heavenly wings.
Left to cherish her precious memory are her children, Herman Keith Burnett (Melissa), and Valerie Burnett Dillingham (Teddy); Grandchildren, Kristen Nicole Burnett (Cory Cheek), Kyle McKinley Burnett (Harlie), Brittanee Autumn Dillingham, Brandee Alexandra Dillingham; Great-Grandchildren, Sawyer Blake Baker, Oaklynn Grace Cheek, Ella Harper Cheek; Brothers, Glen Gambrel (Vivian), Ben Gambrel; Sister, Edith Warren; Brother-in-law, Leeroy Burnett (Janet Ponder), Sam Warren; Sister-in-law, Kathy Burnett. Along with a second family which she loved dearly, Step-daughters, Angie Saylor (Robin), Lisa Messer (David), step-son,Anthony Baker (Kat); Grandchildren, Adam Saylor (Tiffany), Brandon Baker (Tiffany); Great-grandchildren, Blake Michael Baker, Ryleigh Erin Baker, Jenna Saylor, Landon Saylor; A host of nieces and nephews, special friends, and a wonderful church family that she truly loved.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 1:30 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Fisher. Burial will follow in the Pinelawn Memorial Gardens, Pineville. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October, 16, 2024, from 12 Noon until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville.
