Betty Sue Brooks

Betty Hensley Brooks, 77 of Ewing, VA passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Claiborne Medical Center in Tazewell, TN.  She was born in Middlesboro, KY on July 20, 1946, to Joe Allen Hensley and wife Nannie Lee Britton Hensley who precede her in death.  The oldest of ten siblings, Betty enjoyed gardening, canning, birdwatching, reading, music, and quilting among many other interests.

She is survived by her husband, Norman “Ray” Brooks; daughters, Margaret Medina, Lois Hatfield, and Heather London; step children Norman Brooks and wife Angie, Melissa Brooks House and husband Kip; grandchildren Joshua Eldridge, Justice Hamilton, Arabella Medina, and Anna Medina, and step grandchildren Dylan Robinson and wife Kerrion, and Cordell Brooks, sisters Hazel Littrell, Linda Bales and husband Kyle, Joyce Willis and husband Roger, Dora Duncan, Molly Wilson, Brenda Bertram and brothers David Hensley and wife Cathy, George Hensley and wife Robbie, and Johnny Hensley along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who were so very special to her.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 2, 2024 from 5PM until 7PM with funeral services to follow at 7PM in the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with Pastor Dwayne Hatfield officiating. Music will be provided by Missy House and Mollie Wilson, and The Hensley Family.

Graveside services will be conducted 1PM Saturday, February 3, 2024 in the Hensley Cemetery, Ewing, VA.
