Bertha Knuckles Lawson, 92 formerly of Beverly, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at her home in Dayton. She was born in Bimble on June 10, 1915 the daughter of the late Ben F. and Lucy Napier Knuckles. She was a member of the Cow Fork Primitive Baptist Church and had been a homemaker. She was loved by all who knew her and will greatly be missed by her family and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Rant Lawson, son Robert Edward Lawson, brother and sisters, Archie Knuckles, Francis Rollins and Virgie Slusher. Survivors include her children Lydia and Willie B Saylor of Dayton, Beulah Mae and John Brock of Beverly and R. L. Lawson and Debbie Mosley of Beverly; grandchildren David, Rita, Jeanette, Jeanine, Bertha, Eva, Pamela, Ronald, Latrisha, Tonya, Doug, Shelly, Robert and Clinton, Twenty One great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters Roy Saylor, Thomas Saylor, Jr., Mildred McClurg and Nola Doll all of Indianapolis and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Services will be at 11 AM on Monday, April 21 at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Elder Mickey Wilson and Rev. Teddy Collett. Burial will follow in the Knuckles Cemetery at Beverly. Pallbearers will be Doug Lawson, David Saylor, Gary Lester, Jerry Partin, Jacob Ford, Caleb Saylor, Lucas Smith, John Brock and Ernie Dinet. The family wishes to thank the home care nurses from Keltering and Hospice of Dayton for their loving care of Bertha during her illness. The family will receive friends from 5 until 9 PM Sunday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home in Pineville which is in charge of arrangements.
