Bernice (Jones) Carmack

Bernice Jones Carmack, age 77, passed away at Tennova North Hospital on Thursday, April 25, 2024, with her son standing at her side and holding her hand. Scott spent his days at the hospital with her during her eight months there, fighting for her life. Bernice believed in her Lord and Savior and always felt God was with her and she knows she will be in Heaven with God.  Bernice had a beautiful soul.

She was born in Pineville, KY on September 9, 1947, to the late Ernest and Edna Jones. They had lived in Harrogate for over 40 years. Bernice had been a business owner for 20 years working in the Tanning Salon Business and enjoyed sewing, traveling and cooking. She enjoyed her life.  She was a loving spouse to her husband and a loving mother to her son.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Bethel Carmack, brothers, Johnny Jones, and Bennie Jones.

Bernice is survived by her devoted son, William Scott Carmack, PhD and a host of dear friends.

A very special appreciation and honor is extended to Yvonne Gilliam an extraordinary, beautiful, and brilliant lady with a heart that is an amazing bright shining beacon of light.

Services will be on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel in Harrogate. Ms. Corrie Livesay will graciously read the obituary.

The Eulogy will be delivered by Ms. Yvonne Gilliam.

Burial will be in the Harrogate Cemetery, Harrogate, TN. Pallbearers will be Dr. Tom Livesay, Reggie Robbins, Clinton Goins, Joe Johnson, David W. Jones, Dalton Miracle and Jason Hortillosa.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Clint T. Doiron, Dr. Shannon L. Byrd,     Dr. Michael S Weaver, and Dr. Christopher Marron.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel, Harrogate. The Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel is honored to serve William Scott Carmack, PhD.
