Barbara Johnson Lawson

Barbara Lynn Johnson Lawson, 69, of Pineville, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Kettle Island on February 25, 1944 a daughter of the late Freeman and Eulean Deaton Johnson. She was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church and was a dedicated Christian woman who loved working with the children as a Sunday School Teacher. She had worked as a beautician and cosmetologist for many years. Barbara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed 'mothering' everyone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Ray Loudermilk and a brother, Freeman Johnson, Jr. Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Vernon Lawson; daughter, Alice Loudermilk; son, Vernon Bishop Lawson; granddaughter and her husband, Megan and Chad Evans; grandson, Cameron Lawson; great-granddaughter, Olivia Bailey; brother and sisters, Frances Hurley, Thelma Jean Johnson, Clyde Johnson and wife, Delilah; sister-in-law, Barbara Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
