Barbara Ellen (Hopkins) Ramsey

Barbara Ellen Hopkins Ramsey, 79, left this world for her heavenly home on Monday, June 2, 2025.  Barbara was born in Southampton, England on February 10, 1946, to Margaret and Leibert Hopkins, coming to America at three months old via The Queen Mary.

Preceding in joining the Lord, her parents, Margaret and Leibert Hopkins; husband, David T. Ramsey; and sister, Mary Ann Patterson.

She is survived by her nieces, Amanda Gidens and Cindy Feltner, and her beloved cat, Tom.

Barbara was passionate about books.  She was Chairman of Director’s at The Harrogate Book Station for 22 years.  Former Eastern Star member and she adored flowers.  If she was not working in her flowers, she was talking about them and what she wanted to plant next.  She enjoyed going to and having yard sales or thrift stores.

Amanda would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Luis Pannocchia and Jacki B. Smith and the rest of the staff at Heartland Primary Care; Amedysis Hospice and each nurse that took part in her care; and Mary Collins, caregiver.
