Barbara Ann Evans

Barbara Ann Evans, 76, of Flat Lick, KY went home to be with the Lord on September 24, 2017 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Barbara was born on August 19, 1941 in Pineville to the late Rufus and Evelyn Hampton Hoskins. Barbara was married to A.Y. Evans, Sr., until his death on May 13, 1988. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.Y. Evans, Sr.; grandson, William Matthew ; grandparents, George and Dora Hampton; brothers, Vernon Lee, George and Benny Hoskins; aunt and uncle, Buster and Marjorie Miracle. Survivors include her son, A.Y. (Ginger) Evans, Jr. of Flat Lick, KY; brother, Charles Hoskins of Washington; grandchildren, Miciah (Kelly) Evans, A.Y. Trae (Erika) Evans, III, of Flat Lick, Kaylyn (Matthew) Powers of Barbourville, KY; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Brooklyn, Emersyn and Kelsey Evans of Flat Lick, KY; special relative, Brenda Markey of Peoria, AZ. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Barnett and Rev. Bill Parker. Music will be by the Barton Trio, Nevilleann Barton and Meldrum Church Choir. Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro. Pallbearers will be Gary Brooks, Mike Brooks, Jonah Brooks, Alan Cantrell, Lonnie Barton, Colby Slusher, John Combs, Charles 'Bud' Schuemann, Randy Slusher and Ralph Johnson. In lieu of flowers, Barbara's wishes were donations to be made to Meldrum Missionary Baptist Church, Middlesboro or the Pineville High School Hall of Fame, 401 Virginia Ave., Pineville, KY 40977. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3:00 until 9:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Evans Family.
