Barbara Sue Ballew

Barbara Sue Greene Ballew, 77 of Pineville, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at the Middlesboro Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility. She was born in Miracle on September 5, 1944, a daughter of the late George David and Mary Jane Miracle Greene. Barbara was a member of the Centennial Baptist Church and had been a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Blake Jackson; son-in-law Don Wynn; siblings, Homer Greene, Shelb Hembree, Beulah Charles, Abby Carroll, George Greene, Jr, and Ethel Thompson; brothers-in-law, Charlie Cardwell, Beecher Skeen, and Finley Charles; and sister-in-law, Shirley Green. Barbara is survived by her children, Debbie Jackson and husband, David, Glennis Ballew, Jr., Dennis Ballew and wife, Kathy, and Sandra Wynn; grandchildren, Amanda Ballew, Mykayla Ballew, Jacob Ballew, Brandon Ballew, Brittany Ballew, Skylur Ballew, Tara Messer, Theisha Smith, Toraleah Shelly, Tearle Sowders, Alicia Richardson, Patrick Ballew, and Cheyenne Griffin; sister, Irene Skeens; brothers-in-law, Don Hembree and Ed Carroll; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Middlesboro Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility, their Certified Nursing Assistants, the Therapy Department, and the following nurses, Charmaine Moore, Tammy Gilbert, Ashley Lovett, Amy Mayes, Allyson Clouse, Tonya Dixon, Shelly Smith King, Sandy Lamb, Nancy Corkran, Kristie Simpson, Katie Jo Lewis, and Angela Saylor for the loving care they extended toward Barbara. Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. David Gibbons presiding. Burial will be at 12:00 PM on Monday at the Balkan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Skylur Ballew, Brandon Ballew, David Jackson, Kevin Carroll, Craig Richardson, and Patrick Ballew. Honorary pallbearers will be James Greene, Charles Greene, David Greene, Homer Greene, Eddie Carroll, and Mike Charles. Honorary pallbearers who preceded her in death, Blake Jackson, Bill Hembree, and Darryl Greene. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 PM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Ballew Family.
