Barbara Nell Janes Anderson

Barbara Nell (Janes) Anderson, 82, of Columbia , KY. passed away January 28, 2018 at 7:30 AM at her son, Mervin (Andy) Anderson, III's home in Pineville, KY. She was the daughter of the late Ureil C. and Myrtle Thomas Janes of Gradyville, KY. In addition to being a homemaker, Barbara had been a military wife for 22 years before her husband retired. After returning to Kentucky, she had worked at Lake Cumberland Hospital as a dietitian. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Anderson, Jr.; her brother, Thomas B. Janes, Edmonton, KY and sister, Glenda M. Coomer, Columbia, KY. Her caregiver was Shannon Craig of Wallins, KY. She is survived by her son, Melvin Anderson, III and his wife, Emma Starr of Pineville, KY; also son, Michael K. Anderson of Jacksonville, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Angela Roark, Brent Anderson, Scotty Anderson, Ashley Anderson and Jeffrey Anderson and three step-grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. At a later date, there will be a Graveside Memorial Service at Bethlehem Church Cemetery, Russell Springs, KY with Rev. Gerald Reliford officiating. Barbara will be buried there beside her beloved husband. Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, is honored to serve the Anderson Family.
